KU6S - 4A EAST BAY
Field Day is an annual Amateur Radio event which combines aspects of
an emergency drill, a radio contest, a club social and educational
activity, and a public relations event. It occurs on the fourth full
weekend in June every year. Minimally, Field Day is when Amateur Radio
operators get out their generators and set up emergency stations as if
there had been a disaster. Once up, it's a contest to make the most
contacts with other Field Day stations.
This year Field Day 2008 is on June 28 and 29.
- Setup begins on Friday June 27th at 11:00AM and
- Field Day operation begins on Saturday the 28th at 11:00AM.
- There will be a potluck dinner at 5:00pm Saturday.
SBARA holds its Field Day in Central Park at the corner of Paseo Padre and Sailway Dr., in Fremont.
COME JOIN US AT THE ANNUAL FIELD DAY POTLUCK DINNER
Everyone is invited to join the Field Day POTLUCK dinner at Central Park on Saturday, June 28th at 5:00PM.
All that is asked is that you bring a dish to share with the rest of us.
SBARA will be providing Ham and Tri-Tip steak plus the drinks, you are to bring a dish as shown below, to share in the potluck,
- Last Name's ending in A through I... a vegetable side
- Last Name's ending in J through R... a salad side
- Last Name's ending in S through Z... a dessert.
Even if you cannot come during the day to operate, drop by for the dinner and spend some time with your fellow SBARA members.
SBARA FIELD DAY 2008 RAFFLE PRIZE
The raffle prize for this year's Field Day is an assembled and tested Elecraft K3, the 'World Class', state-of-the-art, multi-band, multi-mode, 100 Watt transceiver.

There will be a raffle drawing at 6 PM on Saturday, during dinner. You do not need to be present to win.
The raffle buy in is $10.00 for 1 ticket $20.00 for 3 tickets.
